Pekanbaru, November 26, 2025 — Universitas Riau has once again achieved national recognition through the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP UNRI). At the 2025 Anugerah Humas Indonesia (AHI), PPID FISIP UNRI was awarded the Bronze Winner in the category of Best PPID, Subcategory PPID Implementer. The award is presented by Humas Indonesia, an institution widely regarded as a national benchmark for evaluating communication performance and public information transparency across government ministries, public agencies, regional governments, state universities, SOEs, and BLUs.
The recognition was earned through an entry titled “PPID FISIP: Beacon of Information Transparency”, prepared by the PPID FISIP UNRI team: Dr. Fajriani Ananda, S.Sos., M.Si.; Indry, S.IP., M.AP.; and Denisa Nurmaliza, M.I.Kom. The submission showcased the faculty’s best practices and innovations in ensuring responsive, accountable, and accessible public information services. It also highlighted improvements in documentation systems and the active involvement of the academic community in nurturing a culture of transparency.
The judging process at AHI 2025 involved a panel of public relations experts, senior communication scholars, senior journalists, and branding practitioners. Their involvement underscores the credibility and rigor behind the award, further affirming FISIP UNRI’s commitment to developing modern and responsible information governance. The award ceremony took place on Thursday (25/9/2025) at JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya, attended by representatives from public institutions across Indonesia.
Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed his highest appreciation to the PPID team and all faculty members who contributed to this achievement. He emphasized that the award reflects FISIP UNRI’s dedication to delivering professional, transparent, and public-oriented information services. According to him, this accomplishment is the result of collective effort and serves as motivation to continue improving the accessibility and inclusiveness of public information services.
Dr. Meyzi also noted that the Bronze Winner recognition is not solely a mark of achievement, but a reminder that consistency in ensuring public transparency must be continuously upheld. As an academic institution, FISIP UNRI is responsible for providing accurate, timely, and reliable information to the public.
With this achievement, FISIP UNRI strengthens its position as an adaptive and innovative faculty in advancing high-quality public information services. The accomplishment also reinforces FISIP UNRI’s reputation as an institution capable of setting an example of transparency and accountability among state universities in Indonesia.
