Pekanbaru, November 5, 2024 – The Department of Communication Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), University of Riau, conducted the Finalization of the Supplementary Conversion Instrument (ISK) Document to convert the accreditation of the Bachelor’s Program in Communication Science from A to Excellent. The event was held at Hotel Bono, University of Riau, and was attended by Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FISIP, University of Riau, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP, MA, along with lecturers from the Department of Communication Science, University of Riau.

The finalization of the ISK document is a crucial step in the accreditation improvement process, aimed at aligning the study program standards with the latest criteria from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). With an Excellent accreditation status, the Communication Science Program is expected to enhance its competitiveness and the quality of graduates at both national and international levels.

In his speech, Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP, MA appreciated the hard work of the ISK document drafting team and the commitment of Communication Science lecturers in achieving the target of excellent accreditation. “This finalization is a strategic step to ensure that all assessment indicators are properly met. We are optimistic that the Communication Science Program will achieve Excellent accreditation and continue to improve its academic quality,” he stated.

The event included in-depth discussions on key ISK components, such as curriculum aspects, graduate quality, industry partner involvement, and innovations in learning. The lecturers actively contributed input to refine the document before submission to BAN-PT.

With the completion of this finalization, the Department of Communication Science, University of Riau, is ready to submit the ISK document to BAN-PT in the near future. It is hoped that this effort will yield optimal results and further establish the Communication Science Program as one of the leading departments at the University of Riau.
