Pekanbaru, 13 November 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), officially concluded the series of external audits for ISO 21001:2018 on Thursday (13/11). The audit marked an important milestone in the faculty’s efforts to strengthen internationally recognized educational management and to uphold continuous quality improvement.
The external audit was conducted over four days—Monday to Thursday, 10–13 November 2025—by auditors from Staunchly Management System: Dimas Yuwono Wicaksono, ST., MT., CLA., and Muhamad Dezan Adinta, S.Kom. Throughout the process, the auditors evaluated various aspects of academic service delivery, management systems, and the overall effectiveness of institutional processes implemented within FISIP UNRI.
During the debriefing session, auditor Dimas Yuwono Wicaksono expressed his appreciation for the openness, coordination, and professionalism demonstrated by all units within the faculty. He noted that FISIP UNRI showed strong commitment through the readiness of documents, the transparency of auditees during interviews, and the effective use of digital applications to support quality enhancement. According to him, these efforts reflect the faculty’s dedication to maintaining excellence in educational governance.
At the conclusion of the audit, the team announced encouraging results. Based on their findings and assessments, FISIP UNRI was deemed eligible to receive ISO 21001:2018 certification, an international standard for Educational Organization Management Systems. The auditors stated, “From the consideration of the audit findings, we recommend that the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Riau University, is eligible to obtain the ISO 21001:2018 certificate.”
The closing ceremony was attended by the Rector of Universitas Riau, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, S.E., M.Si., represented by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mexsasai Indra, S.H., M.H. In his remarks, Dr. Mexsasai commended FISIP UNRI for successfully completing the external audit. He emphasized that implementing ISO 21001:2018 is not merely about earning a certification, but about fostering a strong culture of quality within educational environments. He added that this achievement demonstrates the faculty’s commitment to providing excellent educational management focused on student satisfaction and stakeholder needs.
The Dean of FISIP UNRI also conveyed his gratitude to university leadership and the entire academic community for their contributions throughout the audit process. He highlighted that this accomplishment is the result of collective effort and should be followed by continued improvements. The external audit, he noted, is part of a broader continuous improvement journey, requiring the faculty to further strengthen its management systems and quality culture. FISIP UNRI will continue working to deliver educational services that are increasingly responsive, relevant, and of high quality.
With the recommendation for ISO 21001:2018 certification, FISIP UNRI reaffirms its position as a faculty committed to professional, high-standard, and globally competitive educational governance. This achievement also marks a significant step forward in ensuring reliable and internationally aligned quality assurance.
