FISIP UNRI Finalizes the 2025–2029 Strategic Plan as a Foundation for Academic Transformation

Dumai, 24 October 2025 — Efforts to strengthen the faculty’s development direction for the next five years were realized by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP Universitas Riau), through the Review and Finalization of the 2025–2029 Strategic Plan (Renstra) held at The Zuri Dumai Hotel by ZHM. This agenda was designed to ensure that the faculty’s strategic planning aligns with the institutional vision of Universitas Riau.

The activity began with an overview highlighting the importance of updating the planning document. Dean Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., emphasized that the refined strategic plan will serve as a reference for strengthening governance, improving academic quality, and enhancing the faculty’s responsiveness to social developments and the dynamics of higher education.

Also attending the forum were the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., the Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., external reviewer Prof. Dr. Ir. Usman Muhammad Tang, M.S., along with department heads, working group leaders, lecturers, and the drafting team. Their presence reflected a collective commitment to shaping the faculty’s policy direction.

Following the opening remarks, participants entered the main session consisting of a clause-by-clause review of the draft Renstra. External reviewer Prof. Usman provided insights focusing on sharpening strategic policy formulations, ensuring the relevance of key performance indicators, and harmonizing implementation plans with the faculty’s five-year targets.

The discussion proceeded interactively. Under the facilitation of Drs. Kasmiruddin, M.Si., participants highlighted several critical issues, including the need for integration across study programs, clarity in evaluation parameters, and the importance of policy adjustments that reflect academic and social dynamics.

In a subsequent session, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Auradian reminded attendees that the Renstra should not merely function as a formal document, but must be actively monitored and implemented as an operational guide for the faculty. Meanwhile, Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs Dr. Mayarni expressed appreciation to the drafting team for their dedication and reaffirmed that refining the Renstra is part of strengthening transparency and accountability within the faculty.

The activity concluded with a group photo, symbolizing the completion of the finalization process and the shared commitment to driving positive change. Through this agenda, FISIP Universitas Riau reaffirmed its determination to build a more professional, responsive, and quality-oriented faculty governance system.
