
Pekanbaru, 12 November 2025 — The Journal Management Board of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Riau (FISIP UNRI), held a coordination meeting with the Universitas Riau ICT Unit (UPA TIK) to discuss plans for migrating the “Aksara” system. The meeting, held in the UPA TIK conference room, marked an initial step toward strengthening the integration and development of scientific journal management systems within FISIP UNRI.
The session was attended by the Coordinator of the FISIP Journal Management Board, Dr. Zulkarnaini, S.Sos., M.Si., along with team members such as Dr. Tantri Puspita Yazid, S.I.Kom., M.A., and other journal administrators. From UPA TIK, the Head of the ICT Unit, Dr. Ibnu Daqiqil, S.Kom., M.T.I., Ph.D., was present together with technical staff supporting the discussion. During the meeting, both parties discussed technical preparations for the migration—ranging from transition workflows and data adjustments to user training and the framework for ongoing technical support. The discussion also highlighted the need to ensure that the new system operates stably, securely, and is user-friendly for journal managers at FISIP.
Dean of FISIP UNRI, Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the collaboration established with UPA TIK. He emphasized that the digitalization of journal management is part of FISIP UNRI’s commitment to improving the quality of academic publications. According to him, this collaboration plays a key role in accelerating the integration of digital systems at both the faculty and university levels. Meanwhile, Head of UPA TIK, Dr. Ibnu Daqiqil, stressed that the migration of the Aksara system is not merely a platform update, but a strategic step in UNRI’s broader digital transformation. He noted that a more integrated and efficient system will enhance academic governance, improve data security, and support higher productivity in scientific publications across faculties.
The meeting concluded with the formulation of follow-up plans detailing the stages for implementing the new system. Through this collaboration between FISIP UNRI and UPA TIK, the faculty reaffirms its commitment to continuous innovation and to strengthening the credibility and quality of its scientific journal management at both the national and international levels.
