Pekanbaru, August 13, 2025 — The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Riau officially established a strategic partnership with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison to strengthen collaboration between higher education institutions and the telecommunications industry. This cooperation was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) held at the Sutan Balia Auditorium, FISIP Universitas Riau.

The signing ceremony was attended by the leadership of FISIP UNRI, including the Dean of FISIP Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto, S.Sos., M.Si., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Auradian Marta, S.IP., M.A., Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance Dr. Mayarni, S.Sos., M.Si., and Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni Dr. Saiman, S.IP., M.Si.. Representing Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Mgs. Moh. Ali Safitri, SVP Head of Regional Central Sumatera, attended along with his team.
In his remarks, FISIP UNRI Dean Dr. Meyzi Heriyanto emphasized that this partnership is an important step toward opening wider collaborative opportunities, ranging from seminars and guest lectures to student internship programs and joint research in communication and technology. “We hope this synergy will provide real benefits for students and support the development of competencies aligned with industry needs,” he stated. Meanwhile, Mgs. Moh. Ali Safitri reaffirmed Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison’s commitment to fostering innovative and competitive human resources. “This collaboration reflects the vital role of industry in preparing young generations to face global challenges, especially in the digital era,” he said.
As part of the series of activities, FISIP UNRI and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison also held an Inspire Talks session titled “Building Personal Brands Through Content and Marketing Communication.” The event featured two speakers: Dr. Chelsy Yesicha, S.Sos., M.I.Kom. (Lecturer of Communication Science, Universitas Riau) and Rebecca Theresia Nauli Rajagukguk (Puteri Kampus Riau 2025). During the discussion, both speakers shared insights and strategies on building personal branding through creative content and effective marketing communication. Students participated enthusiastically, asking questions and engaging in discussions about the challenges of establishing a personal brand amid intense digital competition.

Through this event, FISIP UNRI and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison demonstrated that strong collaboration between academia and industry can bring significant benefits not only to the academic community but also to the broader society. This partnership is expected to help shape a young generation that is academically strong, practically skilled, and globally competitive.
